about

Hello! I’m Liv.

Origins of greenhouse yoga —

After teaching for several different populations in different settings, I decided that I wanted to create my own space to encourage movement and growth through yoga — with the idea being: this space would be similar to the concept of a greenhouse. In particular, seniors and individuals who are home-bound are often the ones who can benefit from movement the most, which is why I feel strongly about bringing yoga of all levels to these populations, in addition to the general public.

My certifications —

I am a Yoga Alliance Certified 200 Hour Registered Yoga teacher with over 200 hours of experience teaching. Those hours include large and small groups within the public studio population, as well as private trauma-informed yoga for individuals in substance abuse rehabilitation. Additionally, I hold a 30 hour Restorative Yoga certification, and hold an ISSA Running Coach certification.

My education & employment —

I hold a Master of Science degree in Health Promotion and Exercise Science, alongside a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and Spanish. I have spent several years working full-time in both the Level I trauma hospital inpatient rehabilitation setting, as well as the substance abuse rehabilitation healthcare settings. I currently work full-time in Clinical Data Analysis.

Me [actually] —

I am a lifelong lover of movement — During my undergraduate studies I played NCAA Division I volleyball for the University at Albany, and in my post-grad life I’ve gravitated toward becoming an avid runner, amateur cyclist, and clearly, a lover of yoga. I have ran three half-marathons so far, and am always looking forward to the next challenge that I can gift to my body!
